Arsenal booked their place in a Champions League final for the first time since 2006 after beating Atletico Madrid at the Emirates Stadium.
Bukayo Saka's goal sealed a 1-0 victory on the night and a 2-1 win on aggregate as the Gunners now prepare for a showdown with either Paris-Saint Germain or Bayern Munich.
Saka was incredible on the right flank for Arsenal, as were many of his teammates, and Arteta deserves huge praise for propelling the North London side on the verge of greatness.
Former Gunners left back Nacho Monreal is someone who gave the Spaniard his flowers after full-time, recounting a moment that suggested he was always destined for a career in management.
“I remember one day Mikel Arteta organised a dinner. Santi Cazrola & me, we went to watch a Champions League game," Monreal told Amazon Prime.
"When we arrived at his house, Mikel was in front of the TV with a pen & notebook! We were like, ‘What are you doing?!’”
Although he was in disbelief at the time, Arteta's rise towards the top of European football with Arsenal proves all the notetaking and learning as a player paid off.
Monreal played 52 times alongside Arteta for the Gunners during a six-year spell between 2013 and 2019.
