Bayern Munich’s star striker Harry Kane has returned to training this week ahead of their clash with Real Madrid.

Kane emerged as a major doubt for Tuesday’s clash in the Spanish capital after being forced to miss England’s friendly defeat to Japan last week with what manager Thomas Tuchel described as a “minor injury”.

In Kane’s absence, a brace from Tom Bischof and a goal from Lennart Karl was enough to help Bayern claw back a result against Freiburg as they maintained their spot at the top of the Bundesliga.

Bayern manager Vincent Kompany revealed last Friday that Kane had suffered an ankle injury that ruled him out of the Bundesliga clash against Freiburg which was a worry for supporters.

However, Kane took part in Monday’s training session according to The Standard and he will return to face Real Madrid this week for their first leg against the Spanish giants.

The English striker has 48 goals and five assists in just 40 appearances across all competitions this season for Bayern this season and is deemed to be the best striker on the planet when he is at his best.

Bayern confirmed Kane will travel with the squad, meaning he is therefore ready to start the clash alongside other rested stars such as Jamal Musiala and Alphonso Davies.

Real Madrid, who enter the clash on the back of a shock defeat to Mallorca, will be worried about Kane’s return as they chase down their 16th Champions League title as La Liga slowly slips away from them.
