Ramsey opted to call time on his playing career back in April after a spell with Mexican side UNAM and his next step looks to be on the touchline.
The ex-Wales international won three FA Cups across 11 seasons at Arsenal, with Arteta alongside him in the Gunners engine room for five years, and the 35-year-old is hoping to continue along the same path as his former teammate.
"It's inspiring because Mikel was here (studying at the Wales FA base) around 10 years ago, in the same position as I am now, just starting his journey," he said.
"That's inspiring for us, to see him 10 years later, lifting the Premier League and in the Champions League final. I want to win all the big things in the game. That's the goal, that's the target - to get as good as I can to make that a reality."
Ramsey is at the start of his UEFA pro licence course, and has spent time assisting Craig Bellamy in the Wales national team set up, alongside a previous spell as interim boss of former club Cardiff City.
After a brief break from football, Ramsey is confident he can secure a coaching position in the months ahead, and try to follow in Arteta's footsteps.
"I feel ready, but that all depends on the opportunity, doesn't it? What that looks like will be different from different clubs, different age groups and all of that.
"For me, I feel ready to coach, to manage, to be inspiring to a group of players, and we'll see what comes up."
