Cucurella is willing to leave Chelsea this summer, as he prefers a return to Spain. Alonso won't stand in the way of his departure from Stamford Bridge, with big guns Barcelona, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid all making enquiries.
The 27-year-old is seen as the perfect player for Alonso's 3-4-2-1 system as an adventurous left wing-back, utilising his attacking qualities to devastating effect.
That being said, the Blues are already preparing for the chance he exits West London after the World Cup by lining up a move for Juventus ace Andrea Cambiaso.
According to Sport Italia, Chelsea have joined Barcelona and Inter Milan in the race for his signature. Predominantly a left wing-back, the Italian international made 47 appearances in all competitions last term and recorded eight goal involvements.
Cambiaso has three years left on his contract in Turin, and there have been no mentions of a possible asking price. However, with Chelsea looking to recoup £56 million they paid to Brighton for Cucurella in 2022, the 26-year-old should be within their budget.
