Shortly after leaving Newcastle United, Kieran Trippier has agreed to join Wolves on a free transfer.

Trippier announced his emotional exit from the Magpies at the start of April after playing a prominent role in their recent success.

The 35-year-old lifted the Carabao Cup in 2024/25 and competed in two Champions League campaigns during an incredible four-and-a-half years at the club.

Now, the Englishman has dropped down a league, with Sky Sports reporter Keith Downie confirming that Trippier has agreed to join Wolves on a two-year contract plus the option of a third.

The veteran right-back will undergo his medical at Molineux once he returns from his family holiday next week and is set to become the first signing of Rob Edwards' Championship rebuild.

Bury-born Trippier has previously made 174 appearances in the second tier during spells at Barnsley and Burnley earlier in his career. He will now surely surpass the 200 mark as he aims to play a part in the Wanderers chase for an instant Premier League return.
