Sweden meet Poland in their World Cup playoff on Tuesday night, with Lindelof set to mark Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski.
He said on Monday: "Playing the World Cup for your country is the greatest thing you can experience as a player. This is a match you dreamed of playing when you were younger.
"I have been lucky enough to play many big matches. We play not only for ourselves but for everyone who is here watching."
On facing Lewandowski, Lindelof also stated: "It is always a tough task to play against such talented players. He (Lewandowski) has been at this level for many, many years, showing what he can do on a football field.
"It is important for us to keep an eye on him, of course, but also all the other players from Poland who are there. But as I said, a very good player that we will have an extra eye on."
