The 20-year-old winger sustained the strain with reports confirming it is not a full tear, but he is expected to miss Juventus’ final Serie A match of the season.
The setback is estimated to sideline him for around three weeks, casting doubt over his readiness for the Europeans' World Cup opener against Australia on 14 June.
With the tournament approaching quickly, Yıldız is now in a race to regain full fitness before coach Vincenzo Montella finalises his 26-man squad from a provisional list of 35 players.
Alongside Arda Güler, he is viewed as one of Turkey’s most important attacking talents, with group-stage fixtures against Paraguay and the USA also awaiting.
