The Three Lions slumped to a deserved defeat against Japan at Wembley on Tuesday night as they found out what life is like with captain Kane leading the frontline.
The Bayern Munich striker has been in exemplary form for his club this season, scoring 48 goals in 40 games as the German giants storm towards another league title.
England’s top scorer will play a major role in England’s pursuit of World Cup glory in North America this summer as fans rely on the former Tottenham star to lead the side to their first title since 1966.
Now, Tuchel has backed Kane after being asked if England are too reliant on him heading into the tournament.
"Well, why would Argentina not rely on Messi or Portugal not rely on Cristiano Ronaldo?" Tuchel said on ITV.
“In the absence of Harry Kane, we don't have the same threat. Bayern Munich in the absence of Harry Kane has not the same threat. No team in the world has the same threat.
"We can win games without Harry. We will win without Harry, we have won without Harry. But it's easier to win matches with Harry of course.
"I'm not looking for a second Harry Kane - there is no second Harry Kane."
Without Kane, England look toothless in attack despite having so many world-class players at their disposal. The Bayern star is integral to their success this summer and many may be worried what happens to the side after he retires in a few years time.
