Levi Colwill has a great chance of making England's World Cup squad after impressing on his return for Chelsea.

Colwill only returned to training two months ago after an ACL injury suffered in August 2025 kept him out for almost the entire campaign.

The ball-playing defender only played in his first minutes of the campaign in a 3-1 defeat against Nottingham Forest, coming off the bench at half-time.

The 23-year-old has since produced phenomenal performances in the Premier League against Liverpool and the FA Cup final defeat to Manchester City, with Thomas Tuchel "considering" selecting the Chelsea star for England's World Cup squad.

That is according to talkSPORT, who revealed that Colwill's inclusion could leave the likes of Dan Burn and Harry Maguire sweating over their place, presuming that Marc Guehi and Ezri Konsa are guaranteed a spot on the plane, injury permitting.

A towering left-footed centre-back, with incredible athleticism and ball-playing qualities, Colwill could be the perfect backup defender for likely starters Guehi and Konsa.

Tuchel is set to name his 26-man Three Lions squad on Friday, May 22, so we will soon know whether the Chelsea defender is selected.
