Palmer was not among the 26 names released on Friday that will make up Thomas Tuchel's group to travel to North America as the Chelsea star was handed a brutal reality check.
Tuchel said: “I think he (Palmer) suffers from, first of all, a lack of individual form within the club, he was not as decisive or as influential as he was in the last seasons, throughout the whole season. Second of all, he was not very influential with us.”
The No 10 slots will be filled by Jude Bellingham, Eberechi Eze and Morgan Rogers who have been in much better form than Palmer who has failed to impress this season thanks to numerous injuries.
Pedro, who also missed out on the Brazil squad, suggested that his teammate which nations to Brazil as he would slide directly into the squad.
“He’s very intelligent. He’s magic,” said the Chelsea striker.
“I said to him before, ‘I didn’t think you were that good.’ And he looked at me. I said, ‘Yeah, but now because I play with him, yeah, he’s different.
“I said to him, ‘Why don’t you come to Brazil? The number 10 there, mate. No problem.’ Because in Brazil, we don’t have this guy.
“If you watch us, we play 4-2-4. We don’t have a number 10.”
Palmer scored 37 Premier League goals in his first two seasons at Chelsea but his form has fallen off a cliff this season. He still bagged nine goals in 25 Premier League appearances which may be okay for Brazil but not the England side.
