The Three Lions are among the favourites to go all the way at next summer's World Cup in a tournament that will be played in blistering temperatures across the USA, Mexico and Canada.
As nations prepare to find out who they face in the group state ahead of Friday’s draw, Guardiola has backed England and manager Thomas Tuchel to reach their first World Cup final since they lifted the trophy back in 1966.
“Everybody knows the candidates. I would like England to be there (in the final). I don't want to pretend to be nice.
"I have been here for ten years and I would like Tuchel to do it.”
However, the tournament won’t come without its challenge and Tuchel admitted that he would consider copying Borussia Dortmund from last summer’s Club World Cup when their substitutes sat in the dressing room to shelter from the scorching sun.
Guardiola commented on this and gave advice to Tuchel who will want to gain any advantage he can at next year’s competition.
"In 1994 we played in Dallas one day and wow. We were out and it would have been better to be inside like Thomas may decide. Some parts in Mexico and the States. It is hot. A lot of hydration and drinks."
Tuchel, whose team won all of their qualifying matches, will be watching the draw, which will be conducted by former England defender Rio Ferdinand.
