Veratti, still playing in Qatar with Al Duhail, could now be set to return to international for the first time since leaving Europe.
According to Nicolò Schira, the bridge between Verratti and the Italian national team has been rebuilt ahead of their World Cup qualifiers.
Italy will face Northern Ireland in their qualifier on March 26th as they hope to make it to this summer’s tournament.
