Brondby IF could be handicapped by the absence of Filip Bundgaard for an extended period after the talented 21-year old midfielder sustained what looked to be a serious injury in a friendly in Spain against Polish outfit Piast Gliwice.

In the opening stages of the game, Bundgaard received treatment for a long time on the grass after a brutal tackle by a Polish player. Bundgaard seemed to be receiving treatment on his ankle after the incident in which his leg got locked from behind.

After the match, Steve Cooper told Viaplay that he was satisfied with the match except for Bundgaard's injury.

"Apart from Filip's (Bundgaard, ed.) injury, it was good to get minutes in the legs for the players and take steps towards our goals. It was also good to see the young guys finish the game", says Cooper to Viaplay.

On Tuesday, Brondby travels to Portugal, where the second part of the training camp will take place.

In Portugal, Brondby will participate in the Atlantic Cup training tournament, where MLS opposition awaits in the shape of FC Dallas and Real Salt Lake.
