FC Copenhagen on Sunday night wasted their final chance of qualifying for the Danish Superliga Championship playoffs when they suffered a 2-1 defeat at home against Randers. FC Midtjylland shared the spoils in a goalless draw in Herning against Brondby while AGF extended their gap at the top of the standings to four points through a 2-1 win against Vejle.

After a disappointing 1-2 defeat against Randers FC at home, FC Copenhagen ended up in seventh spot in the regular season of the Danish Superliga and consequently failed to qualify for the Championship playoffs.

Randers striker Mathias Greve put the final nail in the Copenhagen coffin with a penalty in the final seconds of the time.

Instead of battling for top positions, for the rest of the spring, FC Copenhagen will now be involved in relegation playoffs for the rest of the season.
