Two US consortia are eyeing off a takeover of Serie A club Cremonese.

According to Il Sole 24 Ore, two US groups are interested in the club.

One is a fund specialising in entertainment, the other a group of American entrepreneurs—essentially a consortium led by entrepreneur Jamie Welch, who has already invested in European football by purchasing Yverdon Sport FC in Switzerland.

The possibility of the Arvedi group selling the club remains to be seen: the same newspaper, citing a spokesperson for the ownership, reports that no negotiations are currently underway.

Giovanni Arvedi took over Cremonese in 2007, bringing it back to Serie A.

Regardless of this, the company has reportedly received expressions of interest, and the advisory platform Tifosy, led by Italian Fausto Zanetti, is said to be working on the deal.
