The Manchester City midfielder is a target for Roma this summer.
Soule told Il Tempo: "I just asked him how he was, but I really don't know anything about the transfer market. I hadn't spoken to him in a while, and now he's replied to me on Instagram, but honestly, I don't know anything.
"He didn't ask me for advice on Rome or Roma."
Soule is rooming with Paulo Dybala in Rome and said of his teammate: "How will we handle the competition? The coach will decide.
"I like playing the way I'm playing now, I'm doing really well, but I have no problem doing something else, like with Inter last year. I can even play on the left."
On strikers Artem Dovbyk and Evan Ferguson, he added: "Very good. Ferguson just arrived, we're getting to know each other. They have a bit different characteristics. They need to adapt to the coach's style of play, which is different from last year. But we're working hard on it, and I think we'll have a great season, hopefully."
