Speaking with La Gazzetta dello Sport, Ranocchia says Pio Esposito has shown he understands the team he's in and has a good grasp of the hierarchy: "And when called upon, he's always ready.
"He's young, he wants to show his worth and improve."
The youngster, fresh from a year on loan at Spezia, is "a player Inter needed," he continued, "with the right structure that was missing. He'll do well. At Inter and the Italian national team, because they need him."
