Being sent off in Italy's World Cup playoff defeat in Bosnia came just weeks after his antics against Juventus and Pierre Kalulu's dismissal drew heavy criticism.
Bastoni is now being linked with Barcelona, which has been described as an escape route in Italy.
But Ranocchia, after Inter's win against Roma last night, told Sportmediaset: "Bastoni? He has a great personality, and that's saving him right now when everything is coming down on him.
"(Inter coach Cristian) Chivu cares deeply about the boys, personally, and he instills strength in the players. A match like this is important for him. I wouldn't leave the Italian league for this situation, and I don't think he wants to either.
"Many others would have been devastated and would have had a hard time leaving the house. He lets a lot of things slide, even though the threats have affected his daughter and wife. These things have an impact."
