Thanks to his success and popularity with Napoli, the Georgia international has often been likened to Maradona.
Kvaratskhelia told Le Parisien: "In Naples they said I reminded me of George Best. He was a special player and one of the best. He could have perhaps become even greater if his life had not been so complicated.
"I admit that I appreciate such comparisons.
"At the same time, it's a heavy thing to be compared to Maradona. No one can really be compared to him. But when the fans called me 'Kvaradona' I was very happy. It showed how much they appreciated me, and it made me proud."
The move to Paris Saint-Germain was also a decisive step in his career.
According to the winger, it was only then that he seriously realised the level he had reached as a player.
"When you come from a small country like mine, it's a dream to play in one of the biggest clubs in the world. Coming to Napoli was already a big step for me and I was very proud," he added.
"But when PSG contacted me, I seriously realized that I had taken the step up and become a world player."
