Pirola left Salernitana two years ago for Olympiakos, having come through the youth system at Inter Milan.
The 24 year-old is being linked with AC Milan this season and he told MilanNews.it: "Everyone has their own path.
"I'm happy to be following this path at Olympiakos, then maybe one day it will be my turn to be a starter for a big club like Milan, Inter, or Juventus.
"Over the years, I've learned that everyone has their own path; you have to look at yourself and wait for the right opportunity."
On the Milan interest, Pirola added: "I'm a professional, and if AC Milan called, I couldn't help but be happy. I've been an Inter fan since I was a kid, but when you enter the world of football, dynamics are created, and you have to do your job and seize opportunities."
