McTominay has continued his momentum into this season, despite being hit by injury spells during the campaign.
Proving the matchwinner against Cagliari on Friday, the Scot won praise from Diego Maradona Jr in the aftermath.
He said: “After my father, McTominay is the most decisive player in the history of Napoli.
“We had God at Napoli in the form of Diego, but for me McTominay is Jesus.
“He is a completely fundamental player.”
