The attacking midfielder, the son of AC Milan legend Paolo Maldini, signed with Lazio last week on-loan from Atalanta. The deal includes an option to buy.
At his presentation today, Maldini was asked about finding a club where he can show his qualities: "I don't think it's about conviction, but rather having people who believe in you through and through.
"I hope to show what I can do; consistency is the most important thing for a player.
"I think it's the right place at the right time. I immediately felt at ease and the feeling is super positive. I can't wait to get on the pitch and help the team."
On Lazio coach Maurizio Sarri, Maldini added: "I immediately had a chat with the manager and he explained his ideas to me. That's the role, and it's quite new to me.
"I'm curious; I want to see what happens."
