Juve are turning to Zirkzee after being frustrated in their attempt for Fenerbache striker Youssef En-Nesyri.
“The situation is pretty clear,” sporting director Giorgio Chiellini said about Juventus’ failure to sign En-Nesyri. “We went to speak to the player, he expressed a few doubts on the formula of the transfer, so for us right now the negotiations are over. We cannot and do not want to buy him outright.
“We’ll see over the next few days if there are any developments or other opportunities, but for us it is over.”
La Gazzetta dello Sport says Juve are now moving for Zirkzee, though new United manager Michael Carrick has told the Dutchman he wants him to stay.
Roma have already dropped their plans for Zirkzee, but Juve will ask the question with the aim of closing an agreement this week.
