Verona have announced the dismissal of the coach, with the team temporarily entrusted to Primavera manager Paolo Sammarco.
A club statement read: "Hellas Verona FC announces that it has relieved Paolo Zanetti of his duties as First Team Coach.
"The Gialloblù Club thanks Mr. Zanetti and his staff for their work over the past season and a half and wishes them all the best for their future careers. Today's training session will be led by Primavera coach Paolo Sammarco."
Among early candidates for the job are Roberto D'Aversa and Marco Giampaolo.
