Netherlands icon and former Chelsea star Ruud Gullit has revealed that Manchester United striker Joshua Zirkzee should consider his future.

The Red Devils reportedly blocked a January exit for Zirkzee, with the Premier League side ensuring that they have sufficient cover in attack following a number of injuries.

It was no secret that Zirkzee wanted a move back to the Serie A, but a move never occurred over the past month as he seeks to escape in the summer.

Joining in the summer of 2024 for a fee in excess of £36M, Zirkzee has managed nine goals in 65 games for United which has left fans very disappointed with the striker.

Speaking to Gambling Insider, Gullit revealed that the 24-year-old should depart the club and he hopes he finds a place with an Italian side which suits him.

“Joshua Zirkzee made a mistake moving to Manchester United – he should have stayed in Italy,” Gullit explained. “When he left Bologna, he should have gone to Juventus or AC Milan and stayed in Serie A.

“He arrived at United when there was a lot of bad energy around the club. It was the wrong time for him.

“There have been rumours that he could now leave United and go to Roma in the summer. I hope he makes that move, or at least join another club in Italy, because it is a much more suitable league for him.”

Zirkzee has scored twice and registered one assist in 16 appearances for the club and a summer move is expected for him as soon as the summer window opens.
