Cauet was in Monaco this week where PSG star Desire Doue was named the 2025 Golden Boy.
And the Frenchman pushed back when asked why there appears so few young players coming through in Italy.
He told TMW: "I don't want to teach Italian football anything at all.
"In the '90s, it was the best and most difficult game, with the best players in the world. That's why young players didn't play. Today, things are different, and that's why coaches are starting to bring them in.
"Look at (Kenan) Yildiz, he's a fantastic player with incredible quality. Inter are also starting to bring in young players. Little by little, the new coaches are having more courage in bringing in young players and instilling that courage in them."
Asked about playing alongside Ronaldo Nazario at Inter, Cauet also stated: "Incredible both technically and physically, he treated matches like a party and didn't feel the pressure at all. Throughout his career, he proved to be an incredible player."
