Elkann intervenes as Chelsea table bid for Juventus playmaker Yildiz

The Turkey international has emerged as one of the brightest young talents in Europe over the past 18 months.

La Gazzetta dello Sport says Chelsea, on recommendation of manager Enzo Maresca, have made an attempt to ferry Yildiz to London this summer.

The Blues have offered €68m for the midfield schemer.

Juventus executives listened to Chelsea's proposal, but given their excellent relationship, they didn't want to waste their colleagues' time: the message was that Yildiz isn't for sale.

Indeed, Juve powerbroker John Elkann sees the youngster as the player to lead their new era under GM Damien Comolli and director Giorgio Chiellini.
