After a fierce battle to secure his services, Atletico coach Diego Simeone has a new addition to his attack.
The club announced the transfer on their website with a brief statement: "Atlético Madrid and Atalanta have agreed to the transfer of the 28-year-old Nigerian international Ademola Lookman, who is already in Madrid.
"The agreement is subject to the corresponding medical examination and the formalization of his contract."
After starting his career at Charlton, Lookman has played for six different clubs. In addition to the Londoners, Lookman has worn the shirts of Everton, Leipzig, Fulham, Leicester, and Atalanta.
It was in Bergamo where he finally blossomed as a player. In his three and a half seasons in Italy, he established himself as one of the best strikers in Serie A, racking up 55 goals and 27 assists.
