The Leicester City legend has been hit by a muscle strain and is racing to be fit for Sunday's clash with Parma.

Vardy made his Serie A debut in last week's debut at Hellas Verona from the bench.

Cremonese announced this morning: "In the past few hours, Jamie Vardy underwent tests for a minor muscle strain that will be monitored. A further physical test is scheduled ahead of Sunday's match."

Vardy said earlier this week: "I wear my heart on my sleeve and give 100%, no matter what happens. It doesn't matter what the situation is, whether it's winning or losing, just give it your all."

What promise does he make to the fans? The Englishman was clear: "What I believe in is taking each game one at a time, step by step, and making sure you give 100% for 90-95 minutes of play. And as long as you do that, you'll get results. That's a guarantee. Once you start doing that, you never know what might happen, but first and foremost we need to make sure we stay in Serie A, then we can build on that."
