Inter have endured an inconsistent start to the season, but Chivu confident going into Saturday's Derby d'Italia.
He said at today's media preview: "The team has worked well. We know that the national team gives you something in terms of energy. Mentally, it can give you something extra. Today, the whole group is available. They're all ready to play.
"We're still in the third matchday. We shouldn't over-exert ourselves; everyone knows what the Italian derby represents. You need to have the right energy to read the game.
"I talked about removing something I didn't like, but the team is confident. I need to have the intelligence to understand what the team can do. I'm not here to overturn everything because that's impossible. The team has been at the top of Italian and European football. I need to add something to restore even more confidence, energy, and motivation to lead the team to its goals."
Chivu insists the clash won't be decisive in the title race.
He also said, "We're aware of how the season might unfold. I'm not here to give you statistics. We're aware of the importance of the match against Juve, but that doesn't change our value and our long-term prospects for the season.
"There are ups and downs in the season. Sometimes you have to get down to business, roll up your sleeves, and work. You also have to learn from your mistakes and move forward with courage. That's the only way to grow."
