The Turkey midfielder is said to be a step away from joining Galatasaray.
But back at the Appiano Gentile, Calhanoglu told reporters: "The calf? Everything's fine. My holidays were a bit difficult, with a lot of speculation. But we've always been in contact with the club. I worked hard, completed all the preparations, and came back in top form. I'm happy to be back.
"Like every year, although a little more this time. I didn't say anything because I wanted the people, our fans, to see me when I came back here. I don't think it's right to always talk."
Asked if he's happy to stay, the midfielder also said: “Of course I am, I'm an Inter player and I've always said I want to stay here.
"We'll see what happens in the coming years, but my goal is to be here and win trophies."
Asked if he'd spoken to Lautaro Martinez after their blow-up at the end of last season, Calhanoglu added: “Yes, of course. We're professionals, we're mature: everything's cleared up, no problem.
"When the captain returns, we'll just hug him; he's rightly on vacation now. We were full of energy, now we're more relaxed and we'll look forward.”
