Legendary winger Neymar will be out of action until November as his World Cup hopes take a huge hit.

Earlier this month, Brazil legend Ronaldo backed Neymar to make it in the squad under manager Carlo Ancelotti as he revealed how he thinks there is no other player like him on the planet.

"He's a key player for the Brazilian national team . We don't have another player like Neymar. And we hope he's 100% for the World Cup, because if he is, we'll definitely have better results than if he's not.

"It's an exaggeration on the part of this minority who believe he's neglecting his physical recovery. Anyone who's played football understands perfectly how difficult it is to come back from an injury and regain rhythm and confidence.”

Now, Santos have revealed that he will be out until at least November as he recovers from a right thigh injury at 33 years old in what is the twilight of his career.

Neymar has not played for Brazil since October 2023, when he suffered an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury playing against Uruguay. His injury means he will not feature in their upcoming international friendlies against Japan and South Korea next month.

The winger has the second-most appearances for his nation (128, behind Cafu) and is also their top scorer with 79 goals. However, his injuries have likely put his World Cup dreams to bed as he comes to terms with the end of his career.
