Al Ahli and England striker Ivan Toney has been arrested over an incident in a London nighclub.

The 29-year-old striker, who now plays his club football in the Saudi Pro League for Al-Ahli was escorted away by police after he had reportedly reacted to a fan grabbing him and attempting to take a selfie at the nightclub on Saturday.

“He walked past a table of a group of lads,” a witness told the Sun.

“One of them recognised him and said, "Oh, it's Ivan Toney," and tried to put his hands around his neck to get a photo with him.

“And then Toney has said, "Get off me, get off me."' The alleged assault followed.

The Sun also reported that a witness stated that Toney “had his jewellery on and he had a real nice watch” and may have been worried that the fan was trying to take possessions.

The recipient of the headbutt was said to be bleeding from the bridge of his nose and a spokesperson from the London Ambulance Service said, as quoted by The Sun: “We assessed three people. We took one patient to a local hospital and discharged the other patients at the scene.”

West Ham United are believed to be interested in signing the former Brentford star who is keen on returning to the Premier League. An incident such as this may push them away from Toney however as they monitor his behaviour.
