Liverpool legend Emile Heskey says Mohamed Salah could join the Saudi Pro League this summer.

Salah's new contract saw him extend his stay at Anfield by two years, keeping him at the club until the summer of 2027 but as he continues to struggle this season, rumours still surround the winger.

BBC Sport have reported that Salah is "increasingly likely" to leave Liverpool this summer, two months after claiming he and Slot had "no relationship” and the club has thrown him “under the bus”.

Speaking to OLBG, Heskey believes that a move could suit the Egyptian who is currently Liverpool's highest-paid player.

“Could Mohamed Salah move to a Barcelona, a Real Madrid or a Bayern Munich instead of the Saudi Pro League? Everyone would love to see him to go those places, and I’m sure he would as well but you take what's there and in front of you.

“If that is Salah’s route well we've seen Cristiano Ronaldo still scoring goals out there. You see Ivan Toney still scoring goals. Sadio Mane's out there. There's no reason why you can't do it in Saudi Arabia and still be producing on an international level as well.

“It's whatever suits him to be honest with you because once you've done what he's done as fans we've just got to accept what he decides. We accept and we love him for what he's done. Because when you look at the numbers that he's produced, no one can say anything.”

He is believed to earn £400,000-per-week at Anfield, meaning that unless he wanted to take a pay cut, the Saudi Pro League is his only viable option heading into what will be a busy summer transfer window for the Premier League champions.
