"When he’s with the national team, I’ve noticed a big difference compared to when he was on loan at a club. Now, he’s at a club where he gets regular minutes and is expected to find solutions. That gives him a rhythm which, for such a technical player who excels in tight spaces, really shows in his performances on the pitch," said Roberto Martínez in an interview with journalist Julio Maldonado.
"I think it was very important for him to end his loan spell and bring some stability to the challenge he’s facing now," added the Portugal coach, noting that João Félix is happy at Al Nassr.
"He’s really enjoying the challenge he has. He’s joined a club where all the attention is on him and he has to be the playmaker. He’s the player who sets up the forwards, drives the team’s tempo, and I think he’s really thriving in that role," explained Roberto Martínez.
