Flamengo midfielder Lucas Paqueta has opened up on Vinicius Jr's racism allegations this week and his future.

Benfica winger Gianluca Prestianni is suspended for tonight’s match against Real Madrid as UEFA investigates allegations that the 20-year-old racially abused Real Madrid’s Vinicius Jr during the first leg last week.

Vinicius Jr alleged that he was racially abused by the Argentine shortly after scoring a stunning goal that earned Real a 1-0 win in the first leg in an incident that went viral.

Paqueta, who has played alongside the Madrid star in the Brazil side for a number of years has now weighed in on the story and how the two talk about the future.

"We talk a lot, but it's very sad to still have to experience and watch the things that happen with Vini. Anyone who knows him knows the heart he has. People blame him for things he shouldn't have to carry. He is the victim there. It's total support from me, from everyone at Flamengo, from all the staff, to Vini," Paqueta told ESPN.

"We talk a lot and I told him: 'I'm here, now only you are missing. Come because we have to fulfil what we promised.' I'm sure that at the right time he will be returning to Flamengo," Paqueta said.

Vinicius Jr has been linked with the Saudi Pro League as he thinks about his future. However, after talks with Paqueta he may see Flamengo as a option for him if he decides to leave the La Liga giants.
