Mohamed Salah is reportedly in talks with Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad over a potential move this summer.

The Liverpool star has been a long-standing target for Saudi clubs since the Public Investment Fund’s investment in the league, with the Egyptian now viewed as a prime marquee signing.

Despite a difficult and tense season at Anfield, interest in the Egyptian remains strong. Salah was instrumental in Liverpool’s Premier League title win under Arne Slot last season, scoring 29 goals and providing 18 assists.

However, after signing a contract extension in April, the former African Player of the Year has managed just four league goals this campaign.

According to Foot Mercato, negotiations with Al-Ittihad are underway, with greater optimism than last year that a deal can be reached.

The 33-year-old is believed to be more open to a move to the Middle East, where he would likely become the league’s biggest star. Al-Ittihad, owned by PIF, are struggling in seventh, 16 points behind leaders Al-Hilal.
