United have signed Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo this summer for a combined total of £133.5M but must now sell a number of players in the so called “bomb squad” to be able to make more signings ahead of the new season.
Marcus Rashford, who was once in the list of players to be sold, has already joined Barcelona this summer on loan in a piece of positive news for the side. Manager Ruben Amorim decided earlier this summer that Antony would not take part in pre-season preparations with the team.
This of course meant that he would leave the side, but so far no offers have come for the Brazilian international despite Real Betis being interested in making his loan move permeant after his impressive performances last season which helped them to the Conference League final.
Sky Sports now report that two Saudi Arabian sides are thought to be interested in Antony who is open to a move to the Saudi Pro League this summer. However, the bad news for United is that his preference is to stay in Europe with Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich reportedly watching him closely.
The Brazilian winger got nine goals and five assists in 26 games for Betis last season as he proved critics wrong in La Liga. Progress is slow on his transfer situation and United may fail to sell him if he rejects the Saudi League and Bayern or Atletico do not make a move.
