Nkunku, 27, is one of those players expected to leave, and according to Fabrizio Romano, Leipzig are keen on re-signing the Frenchman.
Leipzig are understood to value Simons at £60 million, while Chelsea are hoping to negotiate them down to a fee closer to £50m.
Young winger Tyrique George, who has reportedly told Chelsea he would like to leave in pursuit of first-team football, has also been discussed by the Germans.
