Arsenal legend Ian Wright has hit back at the media who he believes are launching an attack on Jude Bellingham.

Bellingham was infamously left out of the squad for the October international break but returned to the international side over the last month as manager Thomas Tuchel allowed him back into the side.

However, the midfielder was taken off before 90 minutes were up against Albania, and Tuchel said he finds some of Bellingham’s on-field antics “repulsive”.

The Real Madrid star is often the subject of media abuse, and many believe his name is used for clicks as they have nothing else to talk about. Wright, speaking on social media, believes just that as he defended the young midfielder.

“They need to create this kind of controversy because there is nothing else to say until the World Cup, so it’s going to continue like this until the World Cup.

“They hate the fact that they can’t reach him.

"They hate the fact that they can’t negatively influence his club career like they’ve done with so many others before him. A young man blessed, endowed with overflowing talent and love.”

Tuchel has already declared that Bellingham, Harry Kane and Phil Foden might not feature in the same starting XI at the same time. The German head coach is still working out his best side heading into the World Cup, and many believe Bellingham may not make it in despite his vast qualities.

Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers took Bellingham’s place against Serbia and replaced him against Albania as Tuchel experiments with his midfield that is packed full of world class talent.
