The pair were also together at Burnley and when it was announced Dyche had been appointed at Forest, Wood was pumped for information by his teammates about their new manager.
“Yes, well and truly,” he laughed with NottinghamshireLive. “I definitely had a lot of questions from them! They had all heard the rumours with shinpads in training, how hard he is, no snoods, no hats.
“I knew he would definitely do well. He knows what he wants and he gets the right things out of players.
“It’s just if the players want to buy into it. Thankfully they have, and results help that because they keep people on board more. Hopefully it continues in the right direction.”
Wood also said: “People take a bit of time to get used to new managers but we have been through three (this season). We had a great relationship with Nuno (Espirito Santo) at the start, then it changed to Ange (Postecoglou), which didn’t go as well as everyone hoped. And now we are on to the gaffer here.
“We need to try to build together and become that happy strength of a Nottingham Forest that we were last season, and build on it and become better as well. I think we are heading in the right direction. We have got a lot more to come, but we know we’ve got the team to do it.”
