Interim Wolves boss James Collins has spoken to the media ahead of this weekend's clash with Chelsea.

Collins will fill in for Vitor Pereira who was sacked after carrying out a 3-0 loss to Fulham, the club’s fourth defeat in a row in all competitions and third on the spin in the League.

Chelsea is a game Wolves can win

He firstly spoke on facing Chelsea, a game he thinks his side could collect three points from despite their dire form.

"We were determined not to do is that it's a week's holiday and a new manager comes in. We had to make sure that we prepared properly for the game this weekend, it's a Premier League game that can be won.

That was the message to the players, and they've responded brilliantly. They've been unbelievably receptive to what we've done with them."

Wolves are close to replacing Pereira

Wolves are close to finding a replacement for Pereira in Middlesbrough’s Rob Edwards and Collins was questioned on how long he expects to be interim manager.

"What I have been told is that I'll be taking the game this weekend.

"The likelihood is that it will be one, one week only, but you never know in football. Last time we were told it could be a week or two, and it ended up being six. My focus is on the team and our week's work."

Will Wolves be relegated?

Finally, the media asked about the club's chances of avoiding relegation as Wolves currently sit dead bottom and will remain there even if they manage to beat the Blues.

"I told the players on the first day - when you're in it, you feel like you are listening to the outside noise. But there's 28 games to go, nearly 90 points to play for, and if you listen to everybody out there, it's like Wolves are down.

"I don't see it that way. We just need to put some results together. It starts now, 28 games to go and let's get some points."
