Everton have seen a bid for Tomas Soucek rejected by West Ham this week as Toffees boss David Moyes plans a reunion.

Moyes is hoping to land Soucek in the last few days of the summer window as he plans to reunite with the playmaker who he managed at West Ham just a few years ago. Reports suggest that Soucek has been backed for a new West Ham contract which would explain why the bid was rejected so quick.

talkSPORT reports that The Hammers have rejected the offer for the 30-year-old, who has two years remaining on his deal and has scored nine times for the club last season. West ham have started the new Premier League season poorly however, conceding eight goals in just two games and Soucek may not be interested in a new deal as the club slowly goes downhill.

Soucek started in the Irons’ 5-1 defeat to Chelsea and may feature again under manager Graham Potter who will take on Wolves in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night. The 30 year old appears set to remain at the London Stadium despite Everton's advances after spending his entire Premier League career with the side.

Soucek joined the side from Slavia Prague for a reported fee of around £19M in the summer of 2020 and if a move away or a contract is not secured soon then he may leave for free which would be a huge blow to the side who are not eager to sell to a close rival.
