Mourinho, now 62, has been named the new Benfica manager, the club where he started his managerial career 25 years ago.
Benitez, on the other hand, has been out of work following his dismissal as Celta Vigo manager back in March 2024.
Speaking to the Telegraph about his rivalry with Mourinho, Benitez opened up about whether the animosity between the two has softened over the years.
“We’ve met a few times with Uefa meetings and it is OK, but nothing like that. We’ve never spoken about those games," he said.
