Rice has been nominated for the Premier League Player of the Month award for November as he continues to impress for the Gunners, who are five points clear at the top of the league after a 2-0 win against Brentford on Wednesday night.
Mikel Merino’s early opener and Bukayo Saka’s late winner settled the 3 points in what was a simple win for manager Mikel Arteta. Speaking after the game, Warnock heaped praise onto Rice, who he believes is the glue that holds the side together.
“I could pick out of a lot of the Arsenal team when it comes to who I think has been the best this season, but Declan Rice has been outstanding.
“He’s the best player in the league at the moment. He’s been phenomenal this season, and it suits him playing higher up the pitch.
“He was a bit frustrated when playing deeper as a six last season, but now he’s got some more freedom.”
The England midfielder played every Premier League minute in November for Arsenal and is up against the likes of Jeremy Doku, Bruno Fernandes and Igor Thiago for the player of the month award that he has a great chance of winning once again.
Rice’s side recorded their seventh win in nine league matches to move further clear at the top of the league as they track down their first title in over two decades.
