Tottenham have made an approach to sign Andrew Robertson from Liverpool just hours after manager Arne Slot conceded he anticipates no sudden arrivals before the January transfer deadline in just over a week’s time.
Since the Scotland international joined Liverpool from Hull in 2017 for around £8M he has won everything with the club and established himself as an icon on Merseyside.
Robertson nearly joined Atletico Madrid last summer before the deal was called off and now with his contract expiring at the end of the season, Tottenham are ready to lure him away.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that the first bid has been made by the North London side in what would be one of the most shocking moves of the winter window.
“Tottenham sent official bid for Andy Robertson as Liverpool and Spurs are in advanced talks for the left back.
“Negotiations well underway with #THFC on it.”
Reports state that Liverpool will now consider a potential recall for Kostas Tsimikas from his loan at Roma if the Robertson deal goes through, a move many fans have already welcomed on social media.
