The former Brentford star insists his Al-Ahli team would be a top four contender in the Premier League.
"I believe the Saudi league is on par with the Premier League, on the same level. After all, everyone saw Al-Hilal's victory over Manchester City at the Club World Cup," he said.
He then added, "If Al-Ahli played in the English Premier League, they would be battling with other clubs for fourth place to qualify for the Champions League. The Saudi Pro League is a top-level league."
These statements echo those made earlier this summer by Cristiano Ronaldo, who plays for Al-Nassr, who said: "I 100% believe we're already among the top five leagues in the world. Anyone who says otherwise doesn't understand anything about football."
