The Italian midfielder was recently linked with a move away from St. James' Park as reports stated that he was ready to make the switch to Premier League leaders Arsenal.
Newcastle are 11th in the Premier League, seven points off fifth-placed Chelsea as their European hopes dwindle. Tonali will be considering his future alongside his agent who are both keen on Champions League football.
Tonali is growing increasingly frustrated at Newcastle and Riso described a player with "two hearts" and revealed that he is torn between staying and chasing a new project as he revealed to TuttoSport.
“Newcastle are having a hard time letting go of Sandro, and he wants to lead the club to the Champions League,” Riso explained.
“These transfer discussions will take place later. We'll see how the season ends, and then we'll decide what to do. There's no preference at the moment. It's still early.
“What we're saying today won't apply tomorrow. Newcastle couldn't let him go now, and there's no point in moving, especially since Sandro is very attached to the club. We'll evaluate and decide what to do in the summer.”
The Sun claim three Premier League clubs are ready to try and sign him in the summer and if European football is not secured it is likely that he will depart when the campaign comes to a close.
