The Portuguese maestro, who broke the record for Premier League assists in a single campaign (21) against Brighton on Sunday, is arguably the best player United have signed since Sir Alex Ferguson departed in 2013.
Fernandes has been instrumental during high and low periods since arriving at the club from Sporting Lisbon in 2020, and has also turned down multiple offers to leave.
Al-Hilal were willing to pay £100 million to sign him last summer, and he would have earned a reported £200m across a three-year contract in Saudi Arabia.
But the 31-year-old has explained on multiple occasions that he hadn't fulfilled his dreams at Old Trafford, and in an interview with the Diary of a CEO, he admitted he wants to pass on the "values" of being loyal through to his children.
"She's the one (Fernandes' wife). I never make a decision by myself, because moving around nowadays, with two kids, there's a lot to say, and more than becoming the richest person in my hometown," he said.
"I want to live my dreams and pass through the values to my kids that they need to have. My family is always going to be the number one priority in everything I do. Because they followed my dream.”
In an era where decisions are typically money-motivated, Fernandes is living proof that loyalty still exists, and he won't stop until he wins more silverware with the Red Devils.
