Everton host Chelsea at Hill Dickinson Stadium on Saturday afternoon as Liam Rosenior’s side enter the game after being unceremoniously dumped out of the Champions League by Paris Saint-Germain in midweek.
Chelsea currently sit 6th with 48 points from 30 matches and are desperately trying to climb up to the table into the Champions League spots which have eluded the club this season.
Rumours of Rosenior’s potential exit surfaced even before the second leg against French champions and now after their exit he will need to start winning game or face the sack by the brutal Chelsea board.
Ahead of the clash, Chelsea have several injury concerns including Levi Colwill (knee), Filip Jorgensen (groin), Reece James (thigh), Malo Gusto (illness), Benoit Badiashile (illness) and Trevoh Chalobah (ankle) all in defence in what is a weak Blues backline.
Jamie Bynoe-Gittens (thigh) is also absent as Rosenior provided an update on the winger last week.
“Jamie was due back on the bench today but felt his hamstring late after training yesterday, so we're just checking up on him.”
Chelsea have lost just once in their last six Premier League clashes with Everton, winning three and drawing two. The last time these sides faced one another, the West London club won 2-0 at Stamford Bridge.
Everton have failed to score in 12 of their last 19 Premier League games against Chelsea as all signs point towards Rosenior bouncing back against The Toffees.
